I believe the direct object is the swimming hole and the indirect object is the ranch. In school, I learned that you should be able to write the sentence without the indirect object and it should still make sense. Therefore, the sentence without the indirect object would be "Our cousins showed us the swimming hole.".

Answer:

Our cousins showed us the swimming hole on their ranch.

The direct object is "the swimming hole on their ranch"

The indirect object is "us"

Explanation:

The direct object in a sentence is the noun that receives the action of the verb. And an indirect object is a noun that is affected by the verb, as a recipient, but is not the primary object. You can find the direct object by finding the verb and then asking yourself what? And to find the indirect object, ask yourself who? or what? received the direct object.

So in this case "Our cousins showed us the swimming hole on their ranch" the verb is "showed".

Ask what did they show? The swimming hole on their ranch (direct object)

Ask who did they show it to? Us (Indirect object)

inna [77]

Answer: Problem / Solution

Explanation: This is problem and solution because the problem is that tigers are disappearing and going extinct at an alarming rate. Dr. Miller thinks of a solution and that is to write to congress and let them know that we demand the preservation of this species, or donate to Save the Tigers, which will help to support and empower those who are fighting the hardest to preserve the tigers.
