This is correct, the colonist didn't have any communications with Britain about their taxation, Britain juts out of the blue said "hey you have to pay more of something you already pay for ok byeeeee" and the colonist weren't happy about it, this led to the Boston tea party and other acts of rebellion because Americans are wack and eventually led to the revolution

The colonies wanted to join together and form their own country
