Similarity. ... In general, similarity transformations preserve angles. Side lengths are enlarged or reduced according to the scale factor of the dilation. This means that similar figures will have corresponding angles that are the same measure and corresponding sides that are proportional. Hope it helps!

The table shows the results of a survey in which 10th-grade students were asked how many siblings (brothers and/or sisters) they
lesantik [10]

Answer:

<em>70%</em>

<em></em>

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Number of Siblings:   ||    0  ||    1    ||      2     ||       3

Number of Students: ||    4  ||    18    ||    10     ||       8

Required

Determine the probability of a student having at least one but not more than 2 siblings

First, we have to determine the total number of 10th grade students

Total = 4 + 18 + 10 + 8

Total = 40

The probability of a student having at least one but not more than 2 siblings = P(1) + P(2)

Solving for P(1)

P(1) = number of students with 1 sibling / total number of students

From the given parameters, we have that:

Number of students with 1 sibling = 18

So:

P(1) = \frac{18}{40}

Solving for P(2)

P(2) = number of students with 2 siblings / total number of students

From the given parameters, we have that:

Number of students with 2 siblings = 10

So:

P(2) = \frac{10}{40}

P(1) + P(2) = \frac{18}{40} + \frac{10}{40}

Take LCM

P(1) + P(2) = \frac{18 + 10}{40}

P(1) + P(2) = \frac{28}{40}

Divide numerator and denominator by 4

P(1) + P(2) = \frac{7}{10}

P(1) + P(2) = 0.7

Convert to percentage

P(1) + P(2) = 70\%

<em>Hence, the required probability is 70%</em>

A student worked out the following problem to find
polet [3.4K]
We have that

y=x²<span>+3x-5
</span>y=4x+1

using a graph tool
see the attached figure

the solution are the points
(-2,-7)
(3,13)

<span>the solution obtained by the student
</span>(-2,0)
(3,0)<span>
is incorrect because the values of the coordinate y are incorrect
</span>the values of x are correct
x1=-2
x2=3

<span>with those values of x obtained, the student had to substitute it in any of the two equations to obtain the value of y
</span>so
for x=3
y=4x+1------> 4*(3)+1-----> y=13

for x=-2
y=4x+1------> 4*(-2)+1-----> y=-7
