Four conditions for fossilization:

Only dead organism or plant

The dead to be buried quickly

Prevention of decaying and decomposition of the dead

Dead to be buried in environment where carbonates precipitate at large

Explanation:

The plants or animals preserved in sedimentation rock are said to fossilized and the process is called fossilization.

Conditions for fossilization are:

1) Only dead organism or plant: Only dead animal or organism are considered for fossilization.

2) The dead to be buried quickly: To preserve the organism a death by natural calamity is best.

3) Prevention of decaying and decomposition of the dead: The animal needs to be kept in anaerobic conditions and ensured that bacteria do not throng and start the decaying process.

4) Dead to be buried in environment where carbonates precipitate at large:

The soil should be rich in mineral rich water in which carbonates are in excess. The carbonates will get deposited on the degrading tissues and the tissue attain the shape of rock formed by carbonates.

Explain how a testcross can provide evidence for or against linkage.
MrRa [10]

Answer:

Testcrosses clarify linkage because each phenotypic class of progeny corresponds to each gamete type produced by the dihybrid parent.

Explanation:

  • A test cross involves the crossing of an individual with another phenotypically recessive individual so as to determine the zygosity of the former by analyses of the proportions of offspring phenotypes.
  • In order to determine linkage, the test cross shows that if the parentals are more than the recombinants, we can say that the two genes such as b and c  are genetically linked and therefore, they must be on the same chromosome.
  • Also, the test-crosses help to find out which alleles came from which parent.
  • By setting up testcrosses in which one parent is homozygous for the recessive alleles of both genes,we can analyze the gene combinations received in the gametes from the other, doubly heterozygous parent.

When heterotrophs consume food (organic compounds), they convert it to usable chemical energy, primarily in the form of _______,
luda_lava [24]

Answer:

The correct answer is - ATP , glycolysis.

Explanation:

Heterotrophs are the organism, depends on other organisms for their food and energy. They get their energy when they take their food (glucose or other organic compound).

This organic compound is convert into the chemical energy or energy currency primarily, ATP during the process of glycolysis, the first stage or cycle of cellular respiration.

Thus, the correct answer is : ATP, glycolysis.
