If i had this project i would do a bit of research on Pearl Harbor because it was a significant event in American History as well as an easy one to research because there are plenty of places to find information and would be easy to cite. One reason you could say you wanted to research this is that it was a significant moment in American history, and reverted America from its stance on isolationism and from then on was actively involved in global conflict. This is an easier assignment, just make sure you take your time doing it so you don't feel like you're rushing yourself and don't get overwhelmed. I hope this helps :)
