We can use ratio and proportion to find the number of chaperones

Let x represent the number of chaperones.

<u>Number of Students</u>                                    <u>Number of Chaperones</u>

25                                                                                   2

53                                                                                x

If 25 corresponds to 2, then 53 will correspond to a value more than 2. If more, less divides, hence

x=\frac{2 \times53}{25}

x=\frac{106}{25}

x=4.24

Since humans are whole entities, we round up to the nearest whole number which is 5.

The point is that we are dealing with humans and 4.24 means 4 chaperones plus 0.24 chaperone. since we cannot add 0.24 of the next chaperone to the 4, we add one full chaperone.

<h2>So there are at least 5 chaperones</h2>

Dovator [93]

Answer:

The value is  P(X = 3) = 0.1804

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we are told that

   The number of customer that enter the tellers every 5 minutes is  \lambda = 2

Generally the  probability that exactly three customers enter the queue in a randomly selected five-minute period is mathematically represented as

      P(X = 3) = \frac{e^{- \lambda} * \lambda^{3}}{3!}

=>   P(X = 3) = \frac{e^{- 2} * \lambda^{3}}{3!}

=>   P(X = 3) = 0.1804

MaRussiya [10]

Answer: the system of equations are

x + y = 35

3x + 2y = 100

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x= the number of short answer questions.

Let y= the number of multiple choice questions.

Noah wants 35 questions on the exam. This means that

x + y = 35

He plans to mix short answer questions, worth 3 points, with multiple choice questions worth 2 points. This means that x short answer questions will give 3x points and y multiple choice questions will give 2y points

Since the exam is worth 100 points, then,

3x + 2y = 100 - - - - - - - -1

Substituting x = 35 - y into equation 1, it becomes

3(35 - y) + 2y = 100

105 - 3y + 2y = 100

y = 105 - 100 = 5

x = 35 - y = 35 - 5

x = 30
