They are markers because their blood level can tell about the human's metabolism, and can predict diseases.

Cholesterol is a natural fat essential to the body. It allows, among other things, the synthesis of vitamin D or bile. It is a constituent of the wall of our cells. Finally, it is part of many hormones, such as sex hormones.Cholesterol has been identified as responsible for certain cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction and stroke.
Insulin is a hormone naturally produced by the pancreas in response to an increase in the level of sugar (glucose) in the blood.Insulin synthesis failure or insulin resistance leads to diabetes, a disease that affects the quality of life of the patient as it will be dependent on daily intake of antidiabetic and insulin, and will be required to adapt a diet. dietetic

Insulin levels in the blood is an important marker for overall health in addition to cholesterol levels because they can predict diseases and also tell about the metabolic activity of the person.

Further Explanation:

Cholesterol: The waxy substance contained in the blood is known as cholesterol. It is necessary for the proper building of healthy cells, but high levels of cholesterol can be the major reason for several heart diseases. The synthesis of vitamin D for bile is possible only due to the presence of cholesterol in the blood. Cholesterol is the major part of hormones and steroids. High level of cholesterol depicts the bad health of a person which can lead to several cardiovascular diseases such as heart stroke. High cholesterol is inheritable but can also be due to unhealthy lifestyle. A simple blood test can find out the presence of cholesterol as well as the concentration of cholesterol in the blood.

Insulin: The hormone that is secreted by pancreas and is necessary for the use of sugar from carbohydrates in the body. The insulin keeps a track on the level of blood sugar in the body. The condition of hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia is also prevented why the insulin. Aberration in the quantity of insulin or the response to insulin can cause a very common disease called diabetes.

Diabetes can be of two types:

1. Type 1 diabetes: in this kind of diabetes the insulin is not made in the body because of the damage to the beta cells of the pancreas. Insulin injections can compensate the lack of insulin in the body in this case.

2. Type 2 diabetes: in this type of diabetes the body gets resistant to the insulin that is produced several health complications may arise due to this type of diabetes. The diabetes 2 is a progressive condition and can be treated by oral medications along with exercise and diet.

Thus, insulin levels in the blood is an important marker for overall health in addition to cholesterol levels because they can predict diseases and also tell about the metabolic activity of the person.

At what point during normal dna replication is genetic material lost at the telomeres?
vovangra [49]

The point during normal DNA replication at which genetic material is lost at the telomeres is during joining of adjacent Okazaki fragments.

What is DNA replication?

DNA or deoxyribonucleic acid replication is the process that is used by the cells to produce new cells that has a replica of the parent cells.

During DNA replication, genetic material lost at the telomeres due to joining of adjacent Okazaki fragments which are short sequences of DNA nucleotides.

Therefore this shortening of telomeres is due to the 'end replication problem'.

-The cellular level of an organism is where the metabolic processes occur that keep the organism alive. That is why the cell is called the fundamental unit of life.
