The Pequot were a member of the North American Indians tribe who lived in the Thames valley. For a living, they cultivated corn, beans, and squash. They also engaged in hunting and fishing. They fiercely protected their territory and were extremely hostile to the European colonists.

The puritans were the religious group who escaped England because of persecution. They known for their strict beliefs which led them to separate themselves from the Church of England. They settled in North America to practice their religion freely without any obstructions and persecution. Massachusetts colony set up for the Puritans who left England.
