THE AUTHORS DRAW A CLEAR CONNECTION BETWEEN HINDU VEGETARIANISM AND THE CONCEPT OF HOT AND COLD FOODS. DESCRIBE HOW THIS COMPARI
bulgar [2K]

While it might have seemed like a good idea for Sultan Singh to start an egg business, the population of India is largely vegetarian due to religious reasons and does not eat eggs so the business failed.

Explanation:

Hot and Cold foods are described locally and known intuitively by many people who follow the Hindu religion. Eating habits are based on the demarcation.

Cold foods are not eaten after sunset as they induce cold and fever it is believed. These include curd, fruits and even rice which is served hot.

Any other type of staple food is believed to be hot and can be eaten throughout the day.

The Singh business did not run because of the strict eating habits of Hindu of which the above is a great example. These habits include not eating non vegetarian food on certain days for even the people who do. Thus a non vegetarian business finds it hard to function in a Hindu majority region.

Which of the following rhetorical devices is unique to speaking?
Alinara [238K]

Answer:

A. Pausing before speaking to make the point stronger

Explanation:

Basically, rhetorical devices are a set of techniques used to convey one's message more effectively.

This is used both in texts and speeches. However, speaking allows some other additional techniques unavailable in written texts.

Speakers are able to change their intonation, to speak louder to emphasize certain points. They can also use their hand and face gestures to stress the importance of parts of the speech. Of course, for the same reason, they can make dramatic pauses before or after sentences.

Imagine that you are going on a three-day trek during your vacation. What will you do on different days? Write short paragraphs
weqwewe [10]

Answer:

Last vacation we went to Ooty. It was cold even though it was summer. But the weather was pleasant compared to the harsh summer in Kerala. We visited the Doddabetta peak. It is said that from the peek we can see the whole town. We then visited the Rose Gardens. It is situated in the heart of the city and has been beautifully laid out in terraces with rose tunnels, pergolas and bowers with rose creepers. Today it houses the largest collection of roses in the country, with around 3600 variety of roses. The next day, we visited the Botanical Gardens. It is one of the best tourist attractions with flourishing green well-maintained lawns, rare trees species such as a 20 million year old fossil tree, a monkey puzzle tree (monkeys can’t climb this tree), an Italian-style garden bordering an immense variety of flowering bushes, flowers, and plants, fern house with a vast range of ferns and orchids and a clear pool are some of the highlights of this garden. As we were walking through the garden we also got an opportunity to run for our life as a herd of cows came chasing us. On our way back to Kerala, we also clicked some pictures at the famous shooting spots Sixth mile and Ninth mile. But what I really enjoyed was the pleasant weather.
