As these territories came to be occupied they imposed an influence in economics and politics. The formation of West and East Germany resulted.

The regions close to France came to be influenced by the French. also, the size of Germany was reduced giving back Alsace and Lorraine. Some parts in the East were redistributed to Poland.

The capital of West Germany was Bonn, and Berlin as the capital of a socialist German state as well split-

The greatest influence was most seen in Berlin. a city that witnessed many social and political disputes. The famous Wall of Berlin represented the tightest form of influence and control in a city full of contrasts.
