The Cask Of Amontillado is a classic Gothic story, as it includes Gothic themes such as murder, an overlying dark theme in all, and a very "human" reason for the murder.

The style was very extravagant. Passengers belonging to the third class also had been indulged in to get a taste of this luxury. One of them was the lack of need to bring their own food during their stay on the ship.
