(a) the fact there a set of input values is mapped to a set of output values without assigning multiple output values to one input makes this table (and a set of data) a function

(b) a case of two assignments of same input value to two different output values could cause this table to not be a valid function. Example: add a row in the table as follows:

Input: 3      Output: 11

which means a 3 would be mapped to both 5 and 11

(c) the function could be like this:

f(k) = 2k - 1

Test that it works for the values in the table:

f(3) = 2*3-1 = 5

f(4) = 2*4-1 = 7

f(6) = 2*6 -1 = 11

I let you do the last one!

Use the trig ratio which gives you the most information. Here we have opposite and hypotenuse relative to angle x, so think sin( x ) = 14.1 / 27.9<span>Now we want to solve for x, but x is stuck inside the sine function
So how do we do this?
We can 'undo' the sine function by using the inverse sine. apply the inverse Sin to both sides of the equation.
sin^-1 ( sin(x) ) = sin^-1 ( 14.1 / 27.9)
the left side 'cancels' , leaving you with x
x = sin^-1 ( 14.1 / 27.9)</span><span>Now you need a calculator.
Make sure you are in degree mode.
Calculators can give you answer in radian or degree.
If you get a decimal answer, you are probably in radian mode.
Round up if you want nearest hundredth
30.3563 ≈ 30.36
Round up again if you want nearest tenth
30.36 ≈ 30.4
Hope this helps! :)

Which graph shows the solution
kodGreya [7K]
The given inequality is:

-5c + 2 ≤ 27

Subtracting 2 from both sides, we get:

-5c + 2 - 2 ≤ 27 - 2
-5x ≤ 25

Dividing by 5 on both sides we get:

- x ≤ 5

Multiplying by -1 we get:

x ≥ 5

Remember that multiplying or dividing by a negative number changes the direction of inequality symbol.

From the given options, the second graph correctly represents this solution.

PLEASE HELP, easy. <br> What are the exact solutions of x^2-5x-7=0 ?
Svetlanka [38]
X^2 - 5x - 7 = 0

x = (-b (+-) b^2 - 4ac) / 2a
a = 1, b = -5, c = -7

x = (-(-5) (+-) sqrt (-5^2) -4(1)(-7)) / 2(1)
x =  (5 (+-) sqrt 25 + 28) / 2
x = (5 (+-) sqrt 53) / 2
