I would say movies & video games are alike in telling a story, getting emotionally involved, creating interesting characters, both need screens in order to work, both us electricity to work, both are made for entertainment and both are mostly sedentary activity's

I would say movies & video games are different in movies are a predetermined story in were you have to watch the story play out whale you sit there and video games allow you to choose how the characters go about completing the story.
