Palko was charged for first degree murder but was only convicted for second degree murder, he got the life imprisonment. A second trial after an appeal by the state of connecticut found him guilty of first degree murder. He was to be given the death penalty. Palko believed his rights were being violated. But the judge upheld this ruling and on the 12th of April 1938, he was executed on an electric chair in connecticut.
