Answer:

It was an average day, my friends and I hanging out in my room playing video games. Just as I made another kill, as always, my mother screams from downstairs. Of course I jump up to see what her matter is, and my friends follow me.

"Johnny, the heater is pluming smoke, it's about to explode! Hurry, out of the house!" my mother exclaims, practically pushing us down the stairs. We all ran as fast as we could out of the house, and after we were a safe distance away, my mom called 911. Soon enough there was a whole fire department outside my home, all of them ready to hose down our house. After a while of nothing happening, a firefighter named Rick went inside to check it out. After a minute, he came out saying that nothing was going to happen, and that it was just steam coming from boiling water and our humidifier. Well, I guess you could say that it was a false alarm. ;)

Why is Beowulf considered one of the most important pieces of not only British Literature but literature as a whole?
Strike441 [17]

Answer:

Because Beowulf is the oldest record of the archaic English language, in addition to showing concepts of the Christian religion, one of the most influential in the world today.

Explanation:

Beowulf is an Anglo-Saxon epic poem and is one of the most important narratives not only in English literature, but in world literature.

Beowulf is an ancient poem, written millions of years ago, being the first record of Old English spoken by Anglo-Saxons.

In addition, Beowulf brings diverse cultural elements and can be observed in different cultures today showing the influence that the mixture of peoples had in the world.

Beowulf brings many elements of paganism, but it is likely that some of these elements have been modified over time to present cirstan elements. This reinforces the importance of this poem worldwide, since Cyrstianism is one of the most popular religions in the world and the poem shows suppression of English culture to pagan and alternative practices.

expeople1 [14]

Because of the way he has been brought up, Walter Cunningham won't take any lunch money from Miss Caroline. As Scout explains in the book, Walter is a Cunningham, and in Maycomb, the Cunninghams are known to be a poor but proud family. I hope this helped!

What initiated the wife’s exile in "The Wife’s Lament"?
Sidana [21]

In "The Wife's Lament" a plot by her husband's kinsmen initiated the wife's exile.

Explanation:

"The Wife's Lament" or "The Wife's Complaint" is an Old English poem found in the Exeter Book (the 10th-century anthology of Anglo-Saxon poetry). It consists of 53 lines, and is and generally treated as an elegy or woman's song, which shows a woman's grief about a lost of absent lover, although there are numerous different interpretations and disagreements regarding the genre and theme.

If we take a look at the poem, we can see that the cause of the wife's exile are her husband's kinsmen:

They insinuated, the kinsmen of that man,

by secret thought, to separate us two

so that we two, widest apart in the worldly realm,

should live most hatefully—and it harrowed me.

My lord ordered me to take this grove

for a home — very few dear to me

in this land, almost no loyal friends.
