Read more about the Watergate investigation by the Washington Post, and then look through the Watergate files of the Ford Presid

ential Library. Both websites have extensive materials to let you sharpen your understanding of the Watergate scandal and its implications, so your first job is to explore both sites to make sure you have a good grasp of the details of Watergate. Both websites carry short biographies of people important to the Watergate story. Browse the People and Key Players sections of each site and pick two people whose actions and stories interest you. Use the information about them to answer the next question. Answer:

You might have chosen individuals like Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward, or John Dean and Mark “Deep Throat” Felt, or John Ehrlichman and G. Gordon Liddy. Woodward and Bernstein could represent the role of investigative journalism in acting as a check on government power. Dean and Felt could represent the role of people with integrity within the government exposing the misdeeds of others. Ehrlichman and Liddy could represent the abuse of power of those empowered by an administration with misguided ethics.

Marina CMI [18]

Answers:

After a day of demonstrations against pass laws, a crowd of about 7,000 protesters went to the police station. The South African Police opened fire on the crowd, killing 69 people and injuring 180 others. Sources disagree as to the behaviour of the crowd; some state that the crowd was peaceful, while others state that the crowd had been hurling stones at the police, and that the shooting started when the crowd started advancing toward the fence around the police station. There were 249 casualties in total, including 29 children. Many were shot in the back as they fled.

State two reasons for the deterioration of relations between the British and the colonists?
OverLord2011 [107]
Taxation without representation, the colonists were taxed by the British without the Colonists own government being consulted. Another reason was the that the British did not allow the Colonists to move into the newly aquired area of the northwest region(Ohio, Kentucky etc.), because the British promised the area to the Native Americans. And may I note the Colonists actually considered themselves to be British.
