What is the best way to describe the theme of this poem? The new year begins on a set of old promises. I look at my list crumple

There my past remains, here my future lies. I resolve again, to give my old ambitions a refreshed try. A. The main purpose of having New Year's resolutions is to make people feel bad. B. By the end of the year, it is too late to make any changes to a person's life. C. People would accomplish their New Year's resolutions if they wrote them down. D. Explanation:

Author of the poem describes the change we all live through every new year. There is a list of things that we want to achieve, but different events, people, our own characteristics keep us away from it. We know every single line of it by heart and every year we hope and strive that just this year is the one when we will accomplish it all. So the author goes through the same old story and at the very end of it, decides to give it one more try.
