Why did quakers eventually oppose african slavery? how was it opposed to their religious principles?
wariber [46]
This change happened gradually. Quakers were some of the first people in the Americas to own slaves. However, objections were brought up by Dutch Quakers in the 18th century that changed the Christian sect's outlook on owning slaves. From these objections, Quakers gradually stopped owning slaves and became some of the most vocal abolitionists. The Quaker biblical justification was in the verse Matthew 7:12 which stated that Christians had a responsibility to adhere to a higher standard of living morally. The Quakers did not believe owning slaves was a part of living up to these standards.

Why was the council of 500 democratic institution
GrogVix [38]

Answer:

It supervised the state's finances, navy, cavalry, sacred matters, building and shipping matters and care for invalids and orphans. Its own members staffed many boards that oversaw the finer points of these many administrative duties. Cleisthenes. took power in 508 BCE. destroyed the remaining power of the aristocratic families by replacing the old noble tribes with 10 new ones and making sure that each new tribe was made up of a mix of classes. also gave the Assembly the right to make and enforce laws. There could be no appeal from its decisions. created the Council of 500. Those in the Council were selected by lottery from the ten tribes. They advised the assembly and supervised the actions of the archons. set the minimum age to be an archon at 30. created the Board of 10 Generals. The people elected generals-one from each tribe. I believe that citizens have a responsibility to vote on all matters. Votes were held on average every ten days. However, ten percent of the citizens had to show up in order for a vote to take place. That meant that 5,000 people had to show up.

Why does parris plead for the lives of john proctor aud rebecca nurse on the morning of their scheduled execution?
Ghella [55]
Abigail has "flown the overthrow", as it were. This uncovered her as lier and dishonors Paris. Thus, there is little regret in Paris' pleadings for a stay in the executions. Parris is likewise frightened on the grounds that hee found a blade in his front entryway, and is worried about the possibility that that if respectable nationals like John Proctor and Rebecca Nurse are hanged, the town will revolt. Paris even begins to lard like a child, not in view of all the affliction he has caused, but since Abigail stole his cash before she cleared out.
