Find 2 points on the graph where the line crosses completely with the graph (like x1 y-1). Once you have the 2 points count how many squares between your lowest point and your highest point. That’s your rise. Now count how many squares between your lowest and your highest but on the x axis (left-right). That’s your run. Put your rise over your run in a fraction like 1/2. Simply the fraction to the lowest numbers to find the slope.

A box contains 3 cherry frozen treats and 2 grape frozen treats. Maggie takes a treat from the box without looking, gives it to
miskamm [114]

Answer:

6/20 = 3/10

Step-by-step explanation:

Her brother gets the first treat. There are 2 grape treats out of 3+2 = 5 total; this is a probability of 2/5.

Maggie gets the second treat. There will still be 3 cherry treats left, but only 5-1 = 4 treats remaining; this is a probability of 3/4.

Together this gives us 2/5(3/4) = (2*3)/(5*4) = 6/20 = 3/10

At the movies, we had 286 people buy tickets. The adult tickets were $12 and the children's tickets were $4. The total sold was
Elina [12.6K]

103 adults and 183 children's attended

Solution:

Let "a" be the number of adults attended

Let "c" be the number of children attended

Cost of 1 adult ticket = $ 12

Cost of 1 children ticket = $ 4

At the movies, we had 286 people buy tickets

Therefore,

number of adults attended + number of children attended = 286

a + c = 286 ---- eqn 1

The total sold was $1968

Therefore,

number of adults attended x Cost of 1 adult ticket + number of children attended x Cost of 1 children ticket = 1968

a \times 12 + c \times 4 = 1968

12a + 4c = 1968 ------- eqn 2

Let us solve eqn 1 and eqn 2

From eqn 1,

a = 286 - c -- eqn 3

Substitute eqn 3 in eqn 2

12(286 - c) + 4c = 1968

3432 -12c + 4c = 1968

-8c = 1968 - 3432

-8c = -1464

8c = 1464

c = 183

Substitute c = 183 in eqn 3

a = 286 - 183

a = 103

Thus 103 adults and 183 children's attended

How do i solve (x+3)^1/2=(3x+7)^1/4
deff fn [24]
Step 1: Cross-multiply.
(x+3)^1/2=(3x+7)^1/4
Step 2: Subtract 6x from both sides.
4x+12−6x=6x+14−6x
−2x+12=14
Step 3: Subtract 12 from both sides.
−2x+12−12=14−12
−2x=2
Step 4: Divide both sides by -2.
−2x/−2=2/−2

Answer:
x=−1
