Horses are animals that were used mainly for transportation before the invention of automobiles. Horses are very strong and they maintain a strict and organized diet.
Horses shouldn’t be overfed with grains due to its high starch content . This causes it to have diarrhea, abdominal pain and sometimes laminitis which manifests days later.
Overfeeding grains in horses is a factor of digestive problems. Overfeeding refers to giving the animal more than is necessary. This in turn overwhelms the digestive system thereby leading to some digestive problems such as colic and ulcers. Overfeeding also cause excessive weight gain which in turn can lead to a disease called laminitis.
