Answer:

He brought 3 dozen cookies

She ate \frac{2}{5} of the bag of Doritos

She read 25 books

Step-by-step explanation:

∵ Mike makes 4 dozen cookies

∵ He brings 75% of them for a party at his school

- Multiply 75% by 4

∵ 75% = \frac{75}{100}=\frac{3}{4}

∴ He brought = \frac{3}{4} × 4

∴ He brought = 3

He brought 3 dozen cookies

∵ Sam bought a bag of Doritos

∵ She ate only 40% of them

∵ 40% = \frac{40}{100}=\frac{2}{5}

∴ She ate = \frac{2}{5} × 1

∴ She ate = \frac{2}{5}

She ate  \frac{2}{5} of the bag of Doritos

∵ Jamie took 50 books from the library

∵ She only read half of her whole stack

- Multiply half by 50

∴ She read = \frac{1}{2} × 50

∴ She read = 25

She read 25 books

Use the Central Limit Theorem to find a mean given a probability Question A video game company sells an average of 132 games a m
aev [14]

Answer:

The number of games must a store sell in order to be eligible for a reward is 135.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the random variable <em>X</em> represent the number of video games sold in a month by the sores.

The random variable <em>X</em> has a mean of, <em>μ</em> = 132 and a standard deviation of, <em>σ</em> = 9.

It is provided that the company is looking to reward stores that are selling in the top 7%.

That is, P (\bar X > \bar x) = 0.07.

The <em>z</em>-score related to this probability is, <em>z</em> = 1.48.

Compute the number of games must a store sell in order to be eligible for a reward as follows:

z=\frac{\bar x-\mu}{\sigma/\sqrt{n}}

\bar x=\mu+z\cdot \sigma/\sqrt{n}

   =132+1.48\times (9/\sqrt{36})\\\\=132+2.22\\\\=134.22\\\\\approx 135

Thus, the number of games must a store sell in order to be eligible for a reward is 135.

There are 7 people in a room. Each person shakes hands once. How many handshakes will there be?
DiKsa [7]

7 people so first one shakes hand with the remaining people. that is 6

The 2nd person also shakes hand with 6 persons but we have already counted his handshake with first person. so we have to add 6-1 = 5 shakes for 2nd person

like wise 3rd person shakes hand with the remaining 6-2 = 4 people

4th person with 6-3=3 people

5th person with 6-4= 2 persons

6th person with 6-5=1 person

and 7th one with no one because already he has shaken his hand with everyone.

since these people shake their hands with others only once we just have to add the obtained values

6+5 +4+3+2+1= 21

totally 21 handshakes will be there in that room

Find the measure of the side of the right triangle whose length is designated by a lowercase letter. (see attachment)
PilotLPTM [1.2K]

Answer:

a≈18 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

     we have given:

an angle,

the adjacent side and

     we need to find:

the opposite side

we know that the definition of

tan of an angle = opp. side/ adj. side

              tan 61° = a/ 10

multiply both sides by 10

        10 * tan61° = a

   18.04047755 = a

                      18 ≈ a
