The senior class purchased pizza to sell after school for $320. If they sell pizza by the slice they make $2 per slice. If they

sell a
whole pizza it's $10. Each pizza has 8 slices. Let u represent the number of slices sold and let y represent the number of whole
pizzas sold. If the class has 40 pizzas to sell, what is the greatest number of pizzas they can sell if they want to make a profit of

Answer:

30

Step-by-step explanation:

Why!

let x = number of slices sold

let y= number of pizzas sold

If you need to make a profit of at least 140 then you have to make what you paid + what you want = $320+$140 = $460

x= (40-y)8 = 320-8y  : 40 is the number of pizza they bought &each pizza has 8 slices

2x + 10y  ≥ 460

2 (320-8y) + 10≥460

Just solve it

180≥6y

30≥y

Therefore the greatest number of pizzas you can sell is 30 to make at least $140
