Answer:

a) Ratio of perimeters is 11:7

b)  Ratio of area is 121:49

Step-by-step explanation:

 Given : Tho similar figures with sides 22 yd and 14 yd.

We have to find

a)  the ratio of the perimeters and

b)  the ratio of the areas of the larger figure to the smaller figure.

Consider the given figures,

a) Since, the ratio of perimeter of similar figures is same as the ratio of the corresponding sides of the figures.

That is Ratio of perimeter is same as ratio of sides of larger figure to smaller figure .

Mathematically ,

P_1 denotes perimeter of larger figure , and P_2 denotes perimeter of smaller figure

Thus,

\frac{P_1}{P_2}= \frac{22}{14}=\frac{11}{7}

Thus, Ratio of perimeters is 11:7

b) the ratio of the areas of the larger figure to the smaller figure.

The ratio of the areas of the two similar figures is the square of the ratio of the corresponding sides.

that is

A_1 denotes area of larger figure , and A_2 denotes area of smaller figure

Thus, \frac{A_1}{A_2}= \frac{22^2}{14^2}=\frac{484}{196}=\frac{121}{49}

Thus,

\frac{A_1}{A_2}=\frac{121}{49}

Thus, Ratio of area is 121:49

BRAINLY!!!- if a=7, b=8, and c=9.2 is this a right triangle? why?
Travka [436]

Answer:

no

Step-by-step explanation:

If this were a right triangle we would assume the Pythagorean Theorem to prove it

a^{2} +b^{2} =c^{2}

7^{2} +8^{2} =9.2^{2}

this gives us

49+64=84.64

this is 143=84.64 and therefore not equal and not a right triangle

A park district has 45 pine trees and 30 oak trees to be planted. They are separating the trees for different areas. They want e
Lady_Fox [76]

Answer:

greatest number of areas that can be created=5

Step-by-step explanation:

given data

Number of pine trees = 45

Number of oak trees = 30

solution

we want area have same number of both trees

so we get here greatest number of area

we find here  greatest common factor of 45 and 30

so Prime factorization of 45 and 30 are

45 = 3 × 3 ×  5

30 = 2 × 3 ×  5

as here GCF = 5

so here greatest number of areas that can be created=5
