One argument that could be used against the ratification of the Kyoto Protocol is that environmental protection against greenhouse-effect emissions is expensive for both goverments and for firms.

Implementing such protections increases the costs of production of companies, whose productivity is reduced, and therefore they become less competitive in the international markets, which reduces their ability to serve large market shares and, ultimately, it reduces their profits. In absolute terms, if many firms experience such process, the national product would be diminished.

The yellow beams in the model represent equal amounts of radiation coming from the Sun. Based on information shown in the model,
34kurt

Answer: B. The regions near the poles get the most-intense sunlight

Explanation:

The regions by the poles get the least sunlight with the Equator receiving the most direct radiation from the sun. This then spreads out as it approaches the poles due to the curve of the Earth.

This is why areas like Greenland and Antarctica which are closer to the poles are colder because there is less sunlight to melt them.
