How did South Carolina's royal government compare to the other colonies?
gregori [183]

By comparing South Carolina's royal government to the other colonies, it was established that "Unlike most colonies, South Carolina had a bicameral legislature."

 • This is evident in the fact that South Carolina's royal government has two houses.

 • There are His Majesty's Council and the House of Commons.

 • His Majesty's Council has twelve members all selected by the British King.

 • The House of Commons has members elected by the colonists members.

 • To be eligible to vote and be voted for in South Carolina during this period requires certain traits to be met, including being a white male, and having some financial worth defined by the government law at the time.

Hence, in this case, the correct answer is option A. "Unlike most colonies, South Carolina had a bicameral legislature.

Evaluate president johnson's great society program. do you think that its goals were realistic? admirable? why did it receive su
Roman55 [17]
President Johnson envisioned an American society in which poverty and racial discrimination were eliminated. Along with this, he also discussed the need for the conservation of nature, help to the elderly/underprivileged, and the development of America's education system. All of these were admirable goals. However, it would be considered unrealistic to get rid of poverty and racial discrimination as a whole. This would involve a significant amount of government support and a complete cultural change of all American citizens.

Despite not being able to accomplish these goals, this program did receive significant praise because it improved the quality of life for millions of Americans. With programs such as Medicare and Medicaid, individuals who before could not afford medical treatment were now able to see doctors. This also resulted in the free/reduced lunch program which to this day still provides meals for millions of underprivileged students.

Match these student groups or movements with their correct definition:
Katarina [22]

Hey there!

Here are the matches:

Young Americans for Freedom: Conservative group in favor of the Vietnam War, lower taxes, and strong anti-communists.

This group was founded in 1960. It's an activist group with conservative views, matching the anti-communism, low taxes, and pro-war views.

Students for a Democratic Society: Advocated for "participatory democracy" and community involvement; anti-Vietnam war.

This group was also founded in 1960 but ended in 1974. It was another student activist group, and this one had views farther to the left.

Free Speech Movement: College students asserting their right to be heard and counted.

This was a major student protest in the mid-1960s concerning the rights of college students at the University of California, Berkeley.

Hope this helps!
