How did political and economic issues play a role in the Protestant reformation in Europe
The Roman Catholic church ruled the politics and economic powers during that time. The church used indulgences to get money and build new churches and get power from powerful people. Martin Luther was strongly against the use of money to get forgiveness “from God”. Once this monopoly of power was removed from the Church many other religions raised such as Lutherans, Presbyterians, Methodists, Baptists, Pentecostals.
The economic change also went to schools, before the reform people were not literate and did not had the practice to read the Bible. Martin Luther defended that people should read and study it, because of that more people acquired education what increased productivity.
A good example of who did would be John D. Rockefeller. He held the biggest oil monopoly in America at the time. Cars were just getting popular, so of course his company-the Standard Oil Company-would come out on top as the go-to gasoline for millions of Americans.
European allies believed that after the recover of world war II their colonies would finally provide the combination of raw materials and protected markets for finished goods that would cement the colonies to Europe
The Old Regime began in the 15th Century. It was a feudal, monarchial type of
government where the Church and nobility are the dominant forces in
society. It was time of absolute
monarchy and development of centralized government. Though there was a period of prosperity, it
would later lead to decline and revolution.
