A median will distort an average that has one or more extreme values? true or false

False. A median is the middle term of all the data arranged from least to greatest. If the data have outliers or extreme values, the median which is at the center of distribution would not give much alteration to the mean. It would be the outliers.

Factorise the expression 3a2-4ab as far as possible
horsena [70]
In this case, you have to find a common multiple of 3a^2 and 4ab. As only one of the numbers is divisible by two, this means that two cannot go outside of the bracket. The only other aspect that is in both sides of the equation is a, therefore, this goes outside the bracket. The best way to approach this is to divide both sides by a, and this will give you what is inside the bracket. 3a^2 divided by a is 3a, therefore, this is the first aspect in the bracket. -4ab divided by a, leaves -4b. Therefore, these go in the bracket.
3a^2- 4ab simplified is a(3a-4b)
Hope this helps

6x+2y=
6x+2y=
\,\,16
16
2x-2y=
2x−2y=
\,\,32
32
Ivanshal [37]

Answer:

x = 6, y = -8

Step-by-step explanation:

First we take the equations side by side and put them like this:

6x + 2y = 16

+ 2x - 2y = 32

8x = 48

Then solve for x.

x = 6

Then insert x back into either equation

2(5) - 2y = 32

10 - 2y = 32

solve for y,

y = -10

elena55 [62]
There are two congruent triangles that are being formed from the lamppost, the light, the ground and the man. Always try to draw a picture for these types of problems. It helps a lot when solving. Your answer should be about 4.3ft
