This is about Odyssey part 1<br> Please help me
Mrac [35]

Answer:

hehe lucky for you I have read the odyssey

Explanation:

Odysseus acted very egoistic and practically couldn't put his pride away, even though he was lucky enough to live, so he yelled his name to Polyphemus so everybody could know that it was him who defeated Polyphemus .  Now that Polyphemus knew his real name, he cursed his name and prayed to his father, poseidon. The main idea of the prayer was that Odysseus may never return home and if he does it will be years later, not with his crew, and on a different boat. (this next part is from what I learned in my eng, class) This is basically saying to not be so caught up with your pride and just be humble.

1) Odysseus want to return to his wife and son more than anything. He will practically do anything to get home to be with the two he loves the most. He also knows that's how his crew feels about their loved ones, so Odysseus want to get his crew home no matter what

2) Cyclopes have no laws, no community, no agriculture, in seeing this, the crew and Odysseus see them as barbaric because with no laws or community they are savages and that they don't care about the gods.

Cyclopes- live alone, louts, no laws, no community, shepherds, live individually, don't believe in anything, not much morality

Odysseus men-have laws, believe in hods, have a community, live with families, have morality

3) (this one is honestly Odysseus fault, he never explains to his men >:/, wait actually he might have told them not fully sure)

When Odysseus crew stops by on an island they are hungry and tired. So they decide to look for food. Odysseus is told by the sun god(I think that's the god) that they can stay and hunt, but they must not eat the cattle of the sun. Odysseus tells his men not to eat the cattle and to hunt for something else. At this point the men are already tired of Odysseus and his orders, but nobody disobeys him until Odysseus falls asleep, Once he is asleep Eurylochus causes a mutiny and said to the crew that "it's better to die at sea from the wrath of the gods, he said, than to die of hunger"(I don't know the citing). The men then kill and eat the cattle, which resulted in all of the crew dying leaving Odysseus alone.

4) Odysseus had acted very egoistic and full of pride which resulted in his journey to try to get home a living hell. The journey has taught people to be more humble and not doing things just to boost your reputation.

I'm sorry if this isn't enough, its been a couple months since I read it so y e a h, hope this helps :). haha I think we are in the same grade
