Jan has 500 pages of paper.

She has a report of 16 pages.

But a report is printed on both sides of the page.

So the complete report shall be printed on 8 pages.

Now as the total pages are 500

We shall divide 500 by 8 and convert the simplified fraction to mixed no.

Now

\frac{500}{8} =\frac{125}{2} = 62\frac{1}{2}

So we shall be able to print 62 complete copies of the report which shall use 62 × 8 = 496 pages.

Number of pages left = 500 - 496 = 4 pages.

Point K is on line segment \overline{JL} JL . Given JK=2x-2,JK=2x−2, KL=x-9,KL=x−9, and JL=2x+8,JL=2x+8, determine the numerical
Dafna11 [192]

Answer:

KL = 10

Step-by-step explanation:

Point K is on line segment \overline{JL} JL . Given

JK=2x−2

JL=2x+8

KL=x-9

JL = JK + KL

Hence:

2x + 8 = 2x - 2 + x - 9

2x + 8 = 2x + x - 2 -9

2x + 8 = 3x - 11

Collect like terms

3x - 2x = 8 + 11

x = 19

We are to find the numerical length of KL

KL = x - 9

KL = 19 - 9

KL = 10

There were three parts to Rita's race. She ran the first part, which was 4/9
IrinaVladis [17]

Answer:

300 meters per minute

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1

Determine the fraction of the total distance for each part of the race.

Given:

1st part of race = 4/9 of total distance

2nd part of race = 2/5 of remaining distance

Step 2

Determine the distance of the third part of the race.

Given:

time = 15 minutes

speed = 300 meters per minute

Step 3

If the third part of the race (which is 1/3 of the total distance) is 4500m, then the distance of the whole race is:

Step 4

Determine the distance of the 1st part of the race:

Step 5

Determine the speed of the 1st part of the race:

Given:

time = 20 minutes

distance = 6000 m
