Answer: my opinion is that people think doubt this because they think god would of helped them get out of that situation but they didnt. These are extremely sad moments and its almost like you think its gods fault for not making this terrible accident stop before anyone got hurt i really hope this helps

well the "as" makes it a simile. its an exaggeration method used to emphasise a certain feeling or action. in this case its used to emphasise a feeling of grief or sadness. Hope this helps!
