Match the words to the appropriate blanks in the sentences. Use each word only once.
Karolina [17]

Answer:

Heavy bombardment, solar wind, condensation, frost line, planetesimal, accretion, solar nebula, radiometric dating

Explanation:

The first few hundred million years of the solar system 19s history were the time of the heavy bombardment, during which Earth suffered many large impacts.

The era of planet formation ended when the remaining hydrogen and helium gas of the solar nebula was swept into interstellar space by the solar wind.

Ice can form from a gas through the process of condensation.

Hydrogen compounds in the solar system can condense into ices only beyond frost line.

Our Moon was most likely formed by a collision between Earth and a Mars-sized planetesimal.

Mars was formed by the accretion of smaller objects.

Our solar system was created by the gravitational collapse of the solar nebula.

Radiometric dating allows us to determine the age of a solid rock.

Why is Canada tied for 9th place in the Human Development?
torisob [31]
Complex question. Human development will be determined my many factors, such as the wealth of a nation, good public policies: strong economies and supportive governments. Norway is no.1 in the world for human development: They have huge oil reserves, which amounts to a lot of wealth. This, linked with a good government means that the people of Norway can reap the rewards of an excellent average lifestyle. Also it seems that there is a trend of people living in cities have a higher human development than those in the country. E.g Australia has a higher rate of people living in cities than canada, so it gives the illusion (in the results) that Australia has a higher development index ranking than Canada

A radioactive isotope of the element potassium decays to produce argon. If the ratio of argon to potassium in a mineral is found
Shkiper50 [21]

Answer:

After three half-lives, it is 7:1

Explanation:

 • The rate at which the decay of the radioactive isotope is said to be half-life and is represented as the half-life of the atoms and the matter to disintegrate itself.
 • The two radioactive isotopes are K 40 and Ar 40. After the K-Ar dating, they contain minerals such as the clay mica and the temphra minerals and Half-life of the K 40 is 1.3 more than 100,000 years i.e 10x9 years for Ar 40.
 • Thus the K 40 has to divide as three half-lives have passed if the ratio of argon to potassium atoms is 7:1. At the end of one half-life, the ratio of the number of argon to potassium atoms is 1:1. and two half lives its 3:1 thus after the third half-life it becomes as 7:1.
