Answer:

One of what the author emphasizes in this story is Brian’s growth.Through the story, Brian’s character changed clearly.  The author shows us that we can grow by overcoming difficulties.  For example, when Brian met a bear, he was in panic because of fear.  But about two months later, when he met wolves, he wasn’t afraid.  Brian became strong through his life in wilderness.  Moreover, he learned a lot of things, such as how to make shelter, arrow, storage and get food with many mistakes.  The experience that he didn’t go through made him strong.

What we learned from Hatchet is that we can grow both mentally and technically by overcoming difficulties.

In conclusion, Hatchet teaches us that we can mature and be strong mentally if we overcome difficulties.  Though we may go through hardships until we get over difficulties, if we don’t give up, we will get something which are good things for us. Sometimes these are invisible things because it is a mental growth.  By reading this book, young people would learn the importance of overcoming difficulties, and this book makes young people cheer.  In other words, the message of this book include the power which move people positively.
