"I'll shall return ", general Douglas MacArthur said, on March 11, 1942. General Douglas MacArthur climbed a gunship in the Philippines under the auspices of darkness and run the Japanese blockade.

MacArthur told reporters: "I came through and I shall return."

By the time he was returning, he constantly did everything to return and free the islands.

General McArthur appreciated Filipinos very much and once said:

"Give me ten thousand Filipino soldiers and I will win the world."

After about two and a half years, he returned.

On October 20, 1944, MacArthur landed on the coast of the Philippine island of Late. Then he told the radio show: "People of the Philippines, I have returned!"

Some compare this statement with the statement of Jesus Christ about his return to belowed.  Mac Arthur so much appreciated the Filipinos that he did everything to fulfill the promise and filled it.
