The main reason why the African-American students in Greensboro, North Carolina staged a sit-in in 1960 was that they were racial discriminately denied a service in the restaurant there. Therefore, in an attempt to desegregate the South, they protested peacefully to the opposition by staging a "sit-in."

After the Civil War ended, how was the North affected economically?
goldfiish [28.3K]
The North came out in relatively good condition. This is speculated to be due to the war being fought mostly in the south and that the north won, and when you see how the south was left in shambles, you can assume that the North was having a great time post-civil war.
