The main reason why the African-American students in Greensboro, North Carolina staged a sit-in in 1960 was that they were racial discriminately denied a service in the restaurant there. Therefore, in an attempt to desegregate the South, they protested peacefully to the opposition by staging a "sit-in."
The first successful shipboard launch of an airplane from a Navy warship occurred on November 14th 1910 from the Navy cruiser Birmingham. The pilot was a civilian named Eugene Ely.
