What statement best explains why meiosis produces haploid cell rather than diploid cells

The right answer is Haploid cells join to form an organism that has a complete set of chromosomes.

Meiosis makes it possible to pass from a cell to 2n chromosomes to 4 cells with n chromosomes, thus ensuring the passage from the diploid phase to the haploid phase.

So from the fertilization phase to the meiosis phase, the cells will be diploid (2n chromosomes). From the meiosis phase to the fertilization phase, it is the haploid phase (n chromosome).

I believe these are the followings:
Haploid cells join to form an organism that has half the number of chromosomes as the parent
Haploid cells join to form an organism that has a complete set of chromosomes.
Haploid cells join to form an organism that has double the number of chromosomes as the parent.
Haploid cells join to form an organism that is genetically identical to the parent.

Therefore the second one is the statement that best explains why meiosis produces Haploid cells rather than Diploid cells

Haploid cells join to form an organism that has a complete set of chromosomes.

Identify the eukaryotic cellular locations of the fundamental processes that are involved in the central dogma of molecular biol
Papessa [141]

Answer:

See the answer below

Explanation:

The central dogma gives a description of how genetic information travels in biological cells from DNAs to proteins. DNAs are first transcribed into messenger RNAs in a process known as transcription and the resulting mRNAs are used in the synthesis of proteins in a process known as translation.

In eukaryotic cells, transcription process happens within the confines of the nucleus because the genetic material in the form of DNAs are always located in the nucleus. Thereafter, the mRNAs generated from transcription are transported to the cytoplasm of the cell where they become translated into proteins.

Hence;

 • Transcription happens in the nucleus of the cell.
 • Translation happens in the cytoplasm of the cell.

Which conclusion about the meaning Of Y is correct if the allele combination Yy is for yellow seeds?
vaieri [72.5K]
I can infer that the importance of the Y is yellow and prevailing is the allele mix Yy is for yellow seeds. Yy implies that the phenotype demonstrated will mirror the capital letter, or the overwhelming one, which ends up being yellow. In the allele combination Yy, the Y is more dominant over y. If the combination equals yellow seeds, therefore, Y must be yellow seeds
