In a short view, the reader has in front of him/her situation that is dynamics and full of tension. The writer uses a setting to show how this situation is going to develop further. This creates a tense and uptight atmosphere where error can lead to the fall of the character.
Setting can be described as a time and the place of the action. The reader can see positions of characters, current situation and what are they doing.
