Poaching involves illegal trade of these animal valuables in national and international markets. As, it involves killing and intentional injuries to animals it is considered as criminal practice.The main threat to the survival of elephant species is poaching. The ivory is a hard, white material obtain from the tusks or teeth of elephants. The ivory is utilized for production of art, ornaments and decorative items which are sold in higher costs in markets. Therefore, poachers are illegally killing elephants to derive tusks from them.
