The first step is seeing how many times 5 can go in 48. 5 can go in 48 9 times. Then you multiply 310 by 9 which equals 2790. Then you divide 310 by 5 which equals 62. Then you add 62 , three times, to 2790.
The final answer is 2979 quarts.

Hello , okay sooooo ...

You first divide the total quarts of ice cream made by the total hours it was made in

310 ÷ 5

The answer you get tells you how much ice cream can be made in 1 hour

310 ÷ 5 = 62

It is now proven that 62 quarts of ice cream can be made in 1 hour

To find out how much ice cream can be made in 48 hours you multiple 62 and 48

The product will give you the answer to this problem

2976 quarts of ice cream can be made in 48 hours

under a dilation, the point (2,6) is moved to (6,18) what is the scale factor of the dilation? enter your answer in the box
Anestetic [448]
<h2>3</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of line passing through the two points is \frac{y-y_{1} }{x-x_{1} }=\frac{y_{2} -y_{1}}{x_{2} -x_{1}}

When substituted,the equation becomes \frac{y-6}{x-2}=\frac{18-6}{6-2}

which when simplified is y=3\times x

The line clearly passes through origin.

The distance between two points is \sqrt{(y_{1}-y_{2} )^{2}+(x_{1}- x_{2} )^{2}}

Distance between origin and (2,6) is \sqrt{40}.

Distance between origin and (6,18) is \sqrt{360}

Scale factor is  \frac{distance\text{ }of\text{ }p_{2}\text{ from origin}}{distance \text{ } of \text{ } p_{1}\text{ from origin}}

So,scale factor is \frac{\sqrt{360} }{\sqrt{40} }

which when simplified becomes 3.

gladu [14]
(4x^2-25)/(2x-5)=14
we hates fractions so m ultiply both sides by (2x-5)
4x^2-25=14(2x-5)
4x^2-25=28x-70
add 70 to both sides
4x^2+45=28x
subtract 28x  fromoth sides
4x^2-28x+45=0
use quadratic formula which is
if you have
ax^2+bx+c=0 then
x=\frac{-b+/- \sqrt{b^{2}-4ac} }{2a} &#10;
a=4
b=-28
c=45
subsitute
x=\frac{-(-28)+/- \sqrt{(-28)^{2}-4(4)(45)} }{2(4)} &#10;
x=\frac{28+/- \sqrt{784-720} }{8} &#10;
x=\frac{28+/- 8}{8} &#10;
x=\frac{5}{2} &#10; or \frac{9}{2} &#10;
if we were to put 5/2 for x, the deonomentor would be equal to zero, so it cannot be used

answer is
x=9/2
