International trade is very beneficial for nations because it allows the movement of goods and services through different countries and their markets. It is done using foreign currency and is subject to additional regulations established by the participants in the exchange and the governments of their countries of origin. When conducting international business operations, the countries involved benefit from each other by better positioning their products and entering foreign markets.

Protectionism is the economic policy of restricting imports from other countries through methods such as tariffs on imported goods, import quotas and a variety of other government regulations, thus making such goods more expensive so that it is not profitable. Advocates claim that protectionist policies protect producers, companies and workers in the sector that compete with imports from foreign competitors in the country.

International trade helps the world, since nations can exchange technology, information, products and knowledge, which will help their development. On the other hand, this international trade is unfavorable for the United States, due to the fact that the entrance of imported products at very low values, produces a decrease in industrial activity and loss of jobs.
