More than 68 percent of the fresh water on Earth is found in icecaps and glaciers, and a little more than 30 percent is found in ground water. Just about 0.3 percent of our fresh water is found in the surface water of lakes, streams, and marshes.

C. Underground

This is because water is purified underground and while river and lakes used to take that space, they have been mostly polluted by people.

Why did Japan sign unequal treaties with the United states
Lina20 [59]

The correct answer is C) Japan wanted to avoid extraterritoriality like what China suffered.

Japan signed unequal treaties with the United States because Japan wanted to avoid extraterritoriality like what China suffered.

The Harris Treaty between Japan and the United States was signed on July 29, 1858, in what now is Tokyo. The treaty opened trade ports in Japan to establish commerce with the world, principally with the United States that was very interested in the coal mines of Japan. The ports ready to improve trade were the ports of Shimoda, Kanagawa, Nagasaki, and Hakodate.

Kazeer [188]

Before we look into how the 13th, 14th, & 15th amendment affect our society, we must first know what they are.

13th: The 13th Amendment abolished slavery

14th: People borned in the US as well as naturalized are citizens, and must obey the jurisdiction. It also states the people's rights, such as the right to "life, liberty property", as well as "equal protection in the laws."

15th: The rights of the citizens of the US must not be denied, especially in the case of African Americans.

These Amendments were created during and after the Civil War, and allowed different people groups to enjoy the "American Dream", which is Freedom, Liberty, and Equality.

hope this helps
