Okay, so if 6 laps around a neighborhood is 1 mile, then 5 laps around a neighborhood is 5/6 of a mile.
So the answer is Jade will need to run 5 times around her neighborhood.

Since it took 6 laps to run 1 mile the fraction for the whole mile has to be 6/6 so that means 5 laps is equivalent to 5/6

You need to subtract the largest number and the smallest, so it would be 12-0, getting an answer of 12.

Noah tried to prove that cos(θ)=sin(θ) using the following diagram. His proof is not correct.
alukav5142 [94]

Answer:

The first statement is incorrect. They have to be complementary.

Step-by-step explanation:

You can't say the measure of angle B is congruent to theta because it is possible for angles in a right triangle to be different.

You can only say that what he said is true if the angle was 45 degrees, but based on the information provided it is not possible to figure that out.

The other two angles other than the right angle in a right triangle have to add up to 90 degrees, which is the definition of what it means for two angles to be complementary. A is the correct answer.

Ilya [14]

Answer:

first he had M some unknown amount

then he had 2/3 M since he spent 1/3 M

then he spent 3/4 of the (2/3 M) so he had 1/4 of the ( 2/3M)

then he spent what was left $20 so $20 = 1/4 ( 2/3 M) now solve for M

and check by doing each step and figuring how much was spent and how much left.

another method

let us consider the left amount be Y and total now of M dollar be X

then

Y = amount of money Nartin has left

Y = X - ( 1/3 ) ( X ) - ( 3/4 ) ( X - 1/3 X ) - 20

Y = X - 1/3 X - 3/4 X + 3/12 X - 20

Y = X - 4/12 X - 9/12 X + 3/12 X - 20

Y = X - 10/12 X - 20

Y = X - 5/6 X - 20

Y = ( 1 / 6 ) ( X ) - 20
