Thomas Alva Edison was born on 11th February 1847 mostly recognised as an inventor of electric bulb. When Edison was 12 years old he began working as a train boy in the Michigan Railroad. He earned his schooling at home by his mother after being expelled from the school by the headmaster for being 'addled.'

He had an interest in chemical and mechanical experiments. This interest made him inventor not only of an electric bulb but also phonograph, central power station, motion picture studio, an alkaline storage batteries. He had successfully patent 1,093 records (singly or jointly).

His inventions transformed the lives of Americans.
