Both James Madison and John Marshall were Founding Fathers from Virginia. Moreover, the founding fathers of the United States that were from Virginia were George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison.

EXPLANATION:

Founding Fathers, the most famous statesman of the American Revolutionary cohort, were accountable for the victorious war for colonial independence from the United Kingdom, liberal ideas rejoiced in the Declaration of Independence, and the form of republican government delineated in the United States Constitution.

Although there are no approved criteria for inclusion, membership in this select assembly usually needs striking contributions at one or both of the founding of the United States: in the American Revolution, when independence was succeeded, or in the Constitutional Convention, when nationality was gained.

Although the members’ list could be enlarged and contracted as the response to political pressures and ideological prejudice at the time, the following 10 members, represented a "gallery of greats" that has stood the time test: John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Samuel Adams, Patrick Henry, Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, George Mason, John Marshall, and George Washington. There is an almost unanimous agreement that George Washington was the Foundingest Father of all of them.

The term Founding Fathers also make some scholars fundamentally sexist, verbally excluding women from the important role of the establishment. Influential women such as Abigail Adams, Mercy Otis Warren, and Dolley Madison made crucial contributions worth noting, even though the label of Founding Fathers confused their role. As a consequence, the label of Founding Fathers that began in the 19th century as a quasi-religious and almost respectful title has become a more provocative term in the 21st century.
