The narrator was guilty that he suffocated and dismembered the old man. When the police arrived and had a chat with him, the guilt got to him and he confessed his crimes.

A wicked narrator killed and dismembered an old man, and he made sure that there was no evidence to show what had happened and who had committed the murder. Police decided investigate and look through the house before questioning the narrator, and the narrator soon confessed after feeling the guilt of murdering the old man.
