29 adults will need to go
since they go in groups of 15 divide 427 by 15 and you will get 28.47 or 28.466666666666 repeating.
since every group will require one adult there will be 29 adults because the remaining decimal is still a group and will therefore need an adult in addition to the 28 full groups

----------------------------------------------
Find number of groups:
----------------------------------------------
429 ÷ 15 = 28.46

So we will divide the students into 29 groups.

----------------------------------------------
Find number of adults :
----------------------------------------------
Since each group needs one adult,
⇒29 groups need 29 adults

Quarters are currently minted with weights normally distributed and having a standard deviation of 0.065. New equipment is being
Ilya [14]

Answer:

Yes, the new equipment appear to be effective in reducing the variation of weights.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that Quarters are currently minted with weights normally distributed and having a standard deviation of 0.065.

A simple random sample of 25 quarters is obtained from those manufactured with the new equipment, and this sample has a standard deviation of 0.047.

Let \sigma = <u><em>standard deviation of weights of new equipment.</em></u>

SO, Null Hypothesis, H_0 : \sigma \geq 0.065      {means that the new equipment have weights with a standard deviation more than or equal to 0.065}

Alternate Hypothesis, H_A : \sigma < 0.065      {means that the new equipment have weights with a standard deviation less than 0.065}

The test statistics that would be used here <u>One-sample chi-square</u> test statistics;

                           T.S. =  \frac{(n-1)s^{2} }{\sigma^{2} }  ~ \chi^{2}__n_-_1

where, s = sample standard deviation = 0.047

           n = sample of quarters = 25

So, <u><em>the test statistics</em></u>  =  \frac{(25-1)\times 0.047^{2} }{0.065^{2} }  ~  \chi^{2}__2_4

                                     =  12.55

The value of chi-square test statistics is 12.55.

Now, at 0.05 significance level the chi-square table gives critical value of 13.85 at 24 degree of freedom for left-tailed test.

Since our test statistic is less than the critical value of chi-square as 12.55 < 13.85, so we have sufficient evidence to reject our null hypothesis as it will fall in the rejection region due to which <u><em>we reject our null hypothesis</em></u>.

Therefore, we conclude that the new equipment have weights with a standard deviation less than 0.065.

Sandy charges each family that she babysits a flat fee of 10$ for the night and an extra 5$ per child Kimmi charges 25$ per nigh
Finger [1]
I am not going to answer each but here is a general answer.
y is total price and x is number of kids
Sandy's equation would be y= 10+5x
Kimmi's equation would be y= 25

For them to equal we would have 25=10+5x
Simplify
5x=15
x=3
So for them to be equal, Sandy should have 3 kids.

So if someone has 5 children then he should choose Kimmi

Please assist me with these problems
Alex73 [517]

Answer:

1) $350

2) 55°

3) $300

Step-by-step explanation:

1) The total cost is the cost of the appointment plus the cost of the repair work.  The appointment costs $50.  The repair work costs $120 per 2 hours.  So the total cost is:

C = 50 + (120/2) t

C = 50 + 60t

For 5 hours of work, the cost is:

C = 50 + 60(5)

C = 350

It costs $350.

2) The temperature starts at 70°.  It drops 10° in 4 hours.  So the temperature after t hours is:

T = 70 + (-10/4) t

T = 70 − 2.5t

After 6 hours:

T = 70 − 2.5(6)

T = 55

The temperature is 55°.

3) Jennie's total pay is her weekly pay plus her commissions.  If her commission is x% of her sales, then her pay is:

P = 250 + (x/100) S

When her sales is $1000, her pay is $275.

275 = 250 + (x/100) 1000

275 = 250 + 10x

25 = 10x

x = 2.5

So her pay is:

P = 250 + (2.5/100) S

When S = $2000:

P = 250 + (2.5/100) 2000

P = 250 + 50

P = 300

Her total pay is $300.
