Elie Wiesel's memoir "Night" details the horror and sufferings that the Jews had to endure during the infamous Nazi regime's torture and possible annihilation of the Jews. Elie was also part of the people who suffered during this regime. He and his family had also been captured and kept in the many concentration camps for the captivity of the Jews.

In one part of the memoir, Elie recalls the scene where he had seen truckloads of children, including babies, being dumped into burning flames. he couldn't understand why it was "<em>possible that men, women, and children were being burned and  that the world kept silent</em>". He pinched himself and thought that this was all just a dream, possibly a nightmare.
