Imperialism simply means the dominance of a country on the other for profit. The colonized countries were seen as a resource to earn maximum profit for the imperialist nation. Territories being colonized have to adapt the profit rearing strategies like they must provide for raw materials or their trade was controlled, sometimes even destroyed. They were expected to adopt the new culture.
