What are the two reasons given for why the littluns obey the call of the conch
kari74 [83]

Answer:

Partly because Ralph blew it and was big enough to be a link to the adult world of authority, and partly because they enjoyed the entertainment of the assemblies.

Explanation:

In the Lord of the Flies, the "littluns" is a term used to refer to the youngest boys on the island. They are the weaker and more helpless members of the group who are stranded on the island. The older boys like to push the littluns around and take advantage of them. In the novel most of the littluns are faceless and anonymous, they are used by the older boys to gain influence and power. They follow the Biguns and mainly are controlled by Jack. The assemblies gave them some order and were something to look forward to. The Biguns even used the conch towards the end just to summon themselves as it became a comfort to them.
