The embargo of 1807 was a trade restriction passed by the congress and signed by President Jefferson that restricts trading between America and other foreign Nations by restricting American ships from trading at Foreign ports this embargo made other Nations to place higher tariffs on American goods and some also placed an embargo on American products as well and this affected the economies of both France and England because they couldn't trade with America and this reduced their Revenue generated from foreign trades.

In 1806 France also signed an Embargo that prevented France from trading with Neutral nations like France and the United states.
