(x+5)(x-7)

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

The given equation is

x^2-2x-35

Here we need to split 35 in a way that the multiplication of the numbers should yield 35 while the addition needs to be equal to the middle term of the equation that is -2x

So if i consider the factors of 35, i can take 7 and 5

first condition is multiplication should be 35, so

                           7*5 = 35

second condition says addition needs to be equal to the middle term of the equation

                         -7x+5x = -2x

so both the conditions are satisfying so we can break the equation now

             x^2-7x+5x-35

taking the common terms out

          x(x-7)+5(x-7)

          (x+5)(x-7)

Answer:

  see below

Step-by-step explanation:

You can always multiply these out to find what works.

First of all, you can look at the product of the constants. In order for the product to be -35, they must have different signs. That excludes choices A and B.

In order for the x-term of the product to be -2, the binomial constants must have a sum of -2. That excludes choice D.

The only viable choice is C.

How to compare 2 5/9 and 21/3
max2010maxim [7]

Answer:

2 5/9 is less than 21/3;  2 5/9 < 21/3

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1:  Convert 2 5/9 into an improper fraction</u>

2 5/9 = 2 * 9/9 + 5/9 = 18/9 + 5/9 = 23/9

<u>Step 2:  Convert 21/3 so the denominator is 9</u>

21*3 / 3*3 = 63/9

<u>Step 3:  Compare</u>

<em>23/9 < 63/9</em>

If segment FD = 20 units and segment DE = 52 units, what is the value of b? Round the solution to the nearest hundredth.
Readme [11.4K]

Answer:

b = 22.62^{o}

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the triangle is a right angled triangle, the appropriate trigonometric function can be applied to determine the value of b.

Thus, to determine the value of b;

Sin θ = \frac{opposite}{hypotenuse}

Sin b =  \frac{20}{52}

         =  \frac{20}{52}

          = 0.38462

⇒ b = Sin^{-1} 0.38462

  = 22.6202

b = 22.62^{o}

The measure of angle E (= b) is 22.62^{o}.
